Galveston - August 25, 2006
When Donna and I get back from Austin on Friday with our Ashland Retiree trip, we will drive to Galveston. We are meeting Dan, Tammy and the boys for a weekend at the beach.

As a happy retired guy, life has treated me well and this is a spot where I can post some of my thoughts and activities.
When Donna and I get back from Austin on Friday with our Ashland Retiree trip, we will drive to Galveston. We are meeting Dan, Tammy and the boys for a weekend at the beach.
We will have 20 adults and 10 children to celebrate John's birthday.
The Ashland Retiree Club of Texas will visit the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, TX. The Harris County Precinct 3 bus will leave at 8:30 am from the Memorial City parking lot in West Houston.
Our group has lunch at noon at Threadgill's and then will tour the museum on the University of Texas campus from 1 - 4 pm. Jack Blanton is a member of our club. We have a Docent tour scheduled for 1 pm – 2 pm and then will do a self guided tour from 2 - 4 pm. The bus should be back at Memorial City by 8 pm.
It is time for chicken wings and beer again so our Silver Eagles will meet for lunch at Hooter's on FM 1960 at I-45 to enjoy fine food in pleasant surroundings.
The second Monday of each month is the day we retired guys have wings and beer at Hooters. We go at 1:15 pm to avoid the lunch hour rush. Many are from our subdivision but we also are joined by area friends.
We will have our August meeting at 7 pm in the East Clubhouse to discuss the Harris County Precinct 4 bus trips. This month is a Friday night show at the FM 1960 Playhouse to see the "Lion in Winter" on August 25. The guest speaker is Denese Schmelzkopf.
