New Orleans Getaway – Sat, July 21 – Mon, July 23

We booked some cheap airfare on Continental and picked up a Thrifty Rental Car for a New Orleans Getaway. It will be a fun weekend staying in the Hilton Garden Inn by the French Quarter. Donna and I enjoy the creox and seafood restaurants that the city is famous for.

New Orleans is known for its music – explore the origins and traditions of the rhythm of the city. From graceful verandas to elegant parlors, New Orleans' historic homes and buildings are architectural treasures. Bourbon Street and Royal Street are always a enjoyable walk as well as a street car ride in the garden district.

Ashland Retiree Luncheon - Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Don Childs is our host at Sugar Creek Country Club in Sugar Land. We will drive to 420 Sugar Creek Blvd for the buffet in the Terrace Room on the lower level. This is a Southern plantation-style club with soaring columns, vaulted ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views of the lushly landscaped golf course.

Silver Eagles - Monday, July 9, 2007

It is time for chicken wings and beer again so our Silver Eagles will meet for lunch at Hooter's on FM 1960 at I-45 to enjoy fine food in pleasant surroundings.

Silver Eagles Poem

The second Monday of each month is the day we retired guys have wings and beer at Hooters. We go at 1:15 pm to avoid the lunch hour rush. Many are from our subdivision but we also are joined by area friends.
