Saint Patrick's Day Parade - Sunday, March 16, 2008

Donna and I had a great time last night with our friends at Dick and Denese's home. Everyone wore their green and the shamrocks were in evidence as I consumed my share of Jameson Irish Whiskey. We parked our car early this morning in a shopping center close to the start of the Saint Patrick's parade on FM1960 that starts at 2 pm. We Irish will celebrate again on Monday for the true Saint Patrick's Day. It is always a treat to have 3 days of celebration.

Dan and Tammy and the boys are meeting us this afternoon to watch the parade. We plan to have lunch at Doneraki's Mexican Restaurant before the parade. Saint Patrick's mission in Ireland lasted for over 20 years. He died on March 17, AD 461. That day has been commemorated as St. Patrick's Day ever since.

Silver Eagles - Monday, March 10, 2008

It is time for chicken wings and beer again so our Silver Eagles will meet for lunch at Hooter's on FM 1960 at I-45 to enjoy fine food in pleasant surroundings.

Silver Eagles Poem

The second Monday of each month is the day we retired guys have wings and beer at Hooters. We go at 1:15 pm to avoid the lunch hour rush. Many are from our subdivision but we also are joined by area friends.
