April 21, 2012 - Galveston, TX

Our Cypresswood 50 Plus Club did a Pct 4 bus trip to Galveston. Our first stop in Galveston was lunch at Shrimp N Stuff Seafood Restaurant. After lunch we drove to Pier 22 to take the Historic Harbor and Dolphin Watch Boat Tour on the Seagull 11. The Seagull 11 is a modern 50ft vessel designed strictly for water tours, it has both protected and open viewing areas. U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Transfers "Kings Pointer" to Texas Maritime Academy.

They do not have a space to dock this vessel as their pier is under repair. The ship has been renamed "General Barnacle" and is now in Galveston. After we returned from the Harbor Tour we visited the Marine Museum or walked up to the Strand. The bus then returned our club to Cypresswood.

It was a fun weekend in Austin to celebrate the wedding of Deborah and John. A lot of family and many friends. A plus was the old car show that weekend and s stop to visit the state capital for the grandsons.
